Wow!

I have to admit I had to look up what Chatbox was!

I have shared this with my daughters and my grandchildren. Especially the grandsons who if not at school or work are on their game boxes where they do interact with others, but it's usually playing war games and there's a lot of swearing.

When I visit and spend the night I am usually kept awake by their yelling and cursing while on these games. I don't know how their parents dont hear them. I dont say anything to the parents, but I will let the child know how they kept up half the night listening to their cursing while playing their games. That cursing spills over to their everyday lives.

I was visiting and one of my grandsons comes in angry about something dropping one f bomb after another. All I said was was " pardon me"

And the next time he was over I quietly said to him " no f bombs tonight please" he weekly responded okay grandma.

I know that the parents are busy with work and huge amounts of stress today etc and I m sure for them it's easier for them to ignore it and avoid another confrontation with their teens .

If I say anything they might feel like I'm criticizing their parenting skills.

I did have this problem when they were growing up. Those distractions weren't around.

They rode their bikes, roller skates, went swimming, library etc. We read and listened to music. Attended catechism, and mass on the weekends. We visited family, BBQ s , birthdays etc.

It really makes me sad for their future. Its so much more complicated and dangerous today. Praying ๐Ÿ™
