A pope calls the world back from war, and a president answers with ridicule, revealing a deeper spiritual crisis about what we believe strength really is.
I agree 100% with everything you said in this piece. And as I've commented before, I stand completely with Pope Leo. His vision is capturing hearts, and it seems to be more consistently shared by the Church hierarchy. Yay! Trump, on the other hand, is a malignant narcissist who is also suffering from late stage dementia. Typically one deals best with a narcissist (i.e. a coward masquerading as a bully) by putting them in their place. Not by bending the knee. Well look where we are - and it feels beautiful to hear someone say loud and clear "Enough is enough." Trump underestimates the power of this massively popular Pope. Trump's words MUST be condemned. And there can be no place for his ugly "artwork" replacing Jesus' face with his own. The man is sick, and he is paranoid, which makes him dangerous. But there is no excuse for those around him allowing this kind of behavior to continue. Go Pope Leo!!
You are right. This "war of words" is what we experience in our everyday life writ large. However, the more concerning thing, imo, is the image that Trump posted after that post. The messianic images and rhetoric that have sprung up around Trump is starting to become very concerning.
What's funny, or not so funny, is that some of those Christian that Catholics worship idols seem to have no problem with idolatry when it comes to Trump.
We must stand with truth. If we are Christian we must be peacemakers and not powerbrokers. We must love. Period.
Hear Hear!
I definitely stand with Pope Leo. I count the days when the imposter in chief leaves the office.
Amen!

I'm with Pope Leo XIV. Praying for his safety. Amen

Oh, you are 100% right Christopher. I’ve been trying to wrap my head around what to say regarding that all day long…. I’m literally beside myself.

We all carry blind spots, some of us are wearing horse blinders. LOLOL Thank you, Christopher.
